REAL HARDWARE / HAUNTED ARCADE
THE GAMEBOY GUITAR
A real Jamstik Deluxe that turns every string into MIDI, wakes a pack of physical Game Boys, and drags their tiny analog voices through pedals, amps, smoke, neon, and whatever ghosts still live inside the circuitry.
This is not a plugin pretending to remember the past.
It is six old machines singing because a guitar told them to.
01 / THE INSTRUMENT
NOT A PROP. A LIVE MACHINE.
It began as a Jamstik Deluxe: a real guitar with polyphonic, per-string note detection, bends, vibrato, and a USB MIDI connection stable enough for a stage.
Every movement of the hand becomes a message.
Every message asks an old console to answer.
02 / THE CHOIR
SIX GAME BOYS. ONE TINY CHOIR OF GHOSTS.
Each Game Boy is physical hardware. Each one is driven through an ArduinoBoy-style bridge and an mGB cartridge path, so the console is not decoration. It is the synth.
One string can wake one voice. A chord can light the whole pack.
03 / THE TONE
THE OLD PLASTIC SINGS THROUGH REAL AMPS.
After the Game Boys speak, the signal goes back into the world like any other dangerous instrument.
Mixer. Pedalboard. Tube amp. Cabinet. Capture chain.
Retro as resurrection. Hardware as memory. A sound with scratches still in it.
04 / THE BRAIN
THE BOARD IS WHERE THE GHOST LEARNS THE HAND.
The guitar sends note data. The board blooms into a hologram. The hologram throws a Game Boy into the air like a memory rendered in neon.
String to MIDI. MIDI to chip. Chip to amp. Amp to stage. Stage to another world.
05 / THE VISUALS
THE STAGE KNOWS WHAT THE GUITAR IS PLAYING.
The live system can read MIDI, track instruments in 3D space, and turn performance into effects: notes, lightning, overlays, virtual stages, and camera layers that make the real room and the synthwave world bleed into each other.
The guitar exists twice: once in the hand, once in the metaverse.
06 / THE MYTH
WHEN THE WORLD CRASHES, THE HANDMADE MACHINE KEEPS PLAYING.
The Violet Ghost is not just a band.
It is a machine for building impossible rooms, then filling them with grief, glam, voltage, and hope until the walls start glowing.
In the story world, old handhelds and handmade instruments survive the collapse of bigger systems. In the live world, that is not a metaphor. It is the rig.
THE SIGNAL IS ALIVE
STEP INTO THE GAMEBOY GUITAR.
Trace the signal from string to circuit, from circuit to console, from console to amp, from amp to the haunted neon world around it.
This is real hardware. Real time. One-of-none synthwave machinery.
